EPS is a highly versatile material for molding a wide variety of finished parts. Our customers enjoy a wider product portfolio, significantly reduced process costs, improved performance and advanced environmental benefits. We are constantly developing new material grades and molding techniques, all in support of extending the range of applications.
For small quantities, or bigger parts, there is also the possibility to cut the EPS from expanded blocks in different densities and material grades. This technology is also used for plane boards in different applications, such as floor or wall insulation. The cutting technology works with hot metal wires, that are moved in to the EPS block, to allow a precise and continuous cut.
The final transformation of Nob boards is the skinning or coupling with thermoformed PS Foils. In the skinning process the EPS Board is coupled with a thin (0.16-0.20mm) PS Foil, which is directly formed on the board. In the Thermoforming process, a PS higher thickness (0.6-1.0mm) is thermoformed on a specific mold, and then coupled with the EPS Board. The result of this processes is a board with better mechanical characteristics, and higher performances.
